Parent, Spectator & Fan Code of Conduct

Parent, Spectator & Fan Code of Conduct

DIBHA expects all spectators, parents, and fans to represent the Association positively at all times. This Code of Conduct sets clear expectations and helps ensure a respectful, safe, and enjoyable environment for players, coaches, referees, volunteers, families, and the community. All spectators are required to adhere to this Code, DIBHA rules and policies, facility rules, and the direction of DIBHA league organizers. Non-compliance may result in removal from the facility or further action by DIBHA.

Responsibilities of Spectators and Fans

1. Show Respect: Treat players, coaches, referees, volunteers, opponents, families, and staff with respect.

2. Support Positively: Cheer for your team without taunting, mocking, insulting, or disrespecting opponents.

3. Respect Officials: Accept referee decisions; do not argue with, threaten, insult, or pressure officials.

4. Stay in Designated Areas: Fans must remain in spectator areas and must never be in the penalty box, on either bench, behind either bench, or on the playing surface.

5. Leave Rink Incidents to Officials: Only designated referees and DIBHA league organizers should deal with incidents happening on the rink. Spectators must step back and allow them to manage the situation.

6. Do Not Escalate: Do not confront players, coaches, officials, or other spectators, and do not encourage retaliation.

7. Maintain Appropriate Conduct: No swearing, threats, harassment, discriminatory comments, obscene gestures, intimidation, smoking, or vaping at DIBHA events.

8. Follow Facility Rules: Respect the facility, its staff and property, and keep spectator areas clean.

9. Address Concerns Properly: Bring concerns to DIBHA organizers through the appropriate process rather than arguing during games or events.

10. Park Properly: Park only in designated parking areas. Do not park in fire routes, reserved spaces, access lanes, or other undesignated areas.

Senior Girls Games - Women & Girls-Only Environment

Senior Girls games are intended to provide a women and girls-only environment that reflects DIBHA’s Islamic values of modesty, privacy, dignity, and comfort. Accordingly, adult males are not permitted to attend or remain in the facility during Senior Girls games. This includes adult male spectators, parents, family members, guests, and visitors. Female spectators are welcome to attend.

This guideline helps provide a comfortable and inclusive space for girls and women to participate, compete, and support one another. Failure to follow this requirement may result in immediate removal and further action by DIBHA.

Removal & Further Action

DIBHA may immediately remove any spectator whose conduct is unsafe, disruptive, disrespectful, or inconsistent with this code. Serious or repeated violations may result in a ban from future games or events and further action by DIBHA.
